We will at the Zoo today, but here's a slide show of Abby over the years:
Wow, time sure goes fast. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was at a Scholastic Book Fair and I felt my contractions getting stronger. I had preterm labor at 30 weeks and was on bed rest for about 6 weeks. I was so happy to be off bed rest that we headed to the book fair that weekend. Now, since I had contractions for over 6 weeks, it didn't surprise me that I was having more. The building was not air conditioned and it was May! I realized that I had to keep stopping, because it hurt to walk. I told Dave we'd better go. We knew it was time!
Having taken a doula class in the past, I knew to eat before I got to the hospital. So, we stopped at Quizno's and I even got out of the car to order, because I hate the spices they put on the sandwiches and didn't trust my husband to do the order right! LOL!
We then went through the bank atm to get some cash. I came home and took a shower. (I also knew I wouldn't be getting one of those for awhile) While in the shower, I was worried I wouldn't make it out, but somehow I did. I ate my whole sandwich and lemonade and we headed to the hospital.
We arrived at about 3:00 p.m. and my Mom met us up there. I was having terrible back labor and decided on the epidural at around 6 p.m. Those things are awesome and I highly suggest them :)
Suddenly, it was time to push and Abby arrived at 8:26 p.m. on May 22nd. She was 6 pounds even and 20 1/4 inches long.
The memories it brings back just to type that! WOW!
Happy Birthday, Abby!

And thanks for sharing all the pictures and your labor story Jenny:)
Awww, happy birthday, Abby! What sweet photos! It's amazing how fast the time goes, isn't it? My daughter just turned 7, and it's hard for me to get my mind around that. She'll always be my baby. :-)
