Easter Themed Activites

UPDATE:  I thought I'd let everyone know that Abby's dress was from Kohl's.  It was only $11 and then I used a 15% off coupon!

This will be a quick post, but I wanted to share some Easter related activities we worked on yesterday.

I decided to use the plastic eggs again this year, except I put sight words in the eggs.  The weather was nice yesterday, so I took Abby out in her Easter dress to get some pictures.  I then surprised her with an egg hunt.

She quickly gathered up all of the eggs and then opened them one by one to read the words.  She did really well with this. Her reading skills get better every day!  I had 25 sight word eggs and I only recall her having trouble with 3 of them.  Honestly, I think it was my handwriting!  LOL!

Abby also did an Easter Egg printable from abcteach.  She really enjoyed this and did well at reading the instructions.  I forgot to get a pic, because I was making her lunch.

Again no picture, but while Dave was making dinner we did another printable activity.  I found this bible verse related puzzle at Kid's Sunday School Place.  I was shocked that she listened so well to the bible verses and was able to answer the questions.  I'll have to find more of these, it's a fun way to get in a bible lesson.

If you've done some Easter related activities, I'd love to know!  We still have a few days to get in more fun stuff.

The weather is going to be in the 70's today and we are off to meet Heather, Andy and Matthew at the zoo!

I love Abby's dress!

I think I'll put sight words in eggs for Collin today; great idea!

Have fun at the zoo. We are supposed to have beautiful weather this weekend but right now our town is flooded and the rain is not going away!

Oh my goodness is that first picture cute! Abby's dress is so gorgeous, and she looks so happy.
We did a similar activity yesterday with Resurrection Eggs, and I'm thinking we'll do some more games like this soon.

Great idea - my kids aren't ready for sight words yet, but I could put the teen numbers in the eggs to work on number recognition! She sure looks cute in her dress!

I just had to smile looking at the picture of Abby in her dress. She is positively glowing. What a nice surprise for her with an educational twist - great idea!

What a great idea to put sight words in the eggs! I'm so sick of the candy the kids have been getting already in their plastic eggs!!

We just dyed 24 eggs the other day and they came out beautifully! I love to do the marbled look, as well as having the kids color the eggs with crayon and then dyeing them! So much fun!

Isn't Kohl's amazing? I just got a 30% off coupon, plus I had $20 in Kohl's cash so I went there and got a whole new summer wardrobe for each child, including new sandals for them all. I saved over $400!!!!

I giggled over your comment about you husband not using your name when he's speaking directly to you. My husband has a habit of calling me "sweetie"...so much so that I don't even think he realizes it. So sometimes when he says "Helene", it shocks me...I'm always like, "Are you mad at me?" It's kind of like my mother being mad at me and using my first and middle name together to get her point across.

Your idea with the eggs is a great one. We'll be having an egg hunt Sunday at my parents.

I love Abby's dress.

Thanks for sharing all of these links too!
